Sometimes people take drastic steps to get rid of a cold sore in 1 day. I would never recommend these methods as they are sometimes very dangerous however there are many people on the internet for whom this method has worked. This in my opinion must be used as a last resort and this is totally going against what the general consensus think about how to treat the infection. This method is truly bonkers however because so many people swear by it I have included it in my Cold Sore Remedies HQ.
The first thing you have to do is get a clean and sterile needle and pop the sore thoroughly and drain any of the yellow pus or fluid that is around. Clean the area with soapy water and make sure the discharge does not go anywhere as this is a very contagious substance. Get some strong nail polish remover and then dab this on a cotton wool and press against the discharged virus for about 15 minutes, repeat this process several times.
Once you have popped the cold sore you need to mix some peroxide in a small cup and add a pinch of salt and finely ground aspirin. For added potency you can add Tea Tree Oil undiluted. Finally before you go to bed apply this mixture to your cold sore and let it dry as you fall asleep and ensure that it is not rinsed off. The next day you should see that the blister disappears and any scab that forms can be treated using Neosporin.
I have checked a lot of testimonials on this method and it seems as though it has worked for many people and has completely made it worse for others. It really depends on how your skin reacts. I would certainly not recommend this to anybody as it is not tried and tested by the medical profession. It is better to use conventional methods of managing the cold sore and letting it run its natural course. If you are very self concious then try applying some foundation or lip balm to conceal the area while protecting the blister.
